FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How long will my bar of soap last?

Each bar will typically last ~3-4 weeks with normal daily use.

What should I do to make my soap last longer?

Allow your bar to completely dry in between uses. Use a soap dish or deck that allows for air flow and water drainage. Keep your bar out of water and away from the direct stream of the shower.

Do your soaps contain lye?

We use lye (sodium hydroxide) to make our soap. Technically all soap is made with lye. No lye, no soap. While it's used in the soap making process, there is no lye present in the final product because it's all used up in the saponification process.

Are your soaps okay to use on sensitive skin?

Our soap, and goat milk soap in general, is very gentle on skin. However, we always recommend reading through the ingredients which are listed in the product description to make sure there is nothing you are sensitive to. We do have an unscented bar available for those with sensitivities to fragrance oils and essential oils. We also encourage you to do a patch test on a small area of skin to test out the soap before using.

What do you use to scent your soaps?

We use both fragrance oils and essential oils to scent our soaps. The ingredient list in the product description will indicate which is used in each bar.

How do I take care of my soap deck?

If you get soap residue build up on your cedar soap deck, scrub under running water and allow to air dry. Do not put it in the dishwasher. If your soap is sticking to the surface of the deck, coat with mineral oil.
