Hi, my name is Andie. I’m a registered dietitian and modern day homesteader. In 2018, Keanan (my guy) and I decided to leave the Colorado mountains and head Northeast. With our two pups in tow, we found an adorable cottage with a crooked chimney on a few acres. We instantly knew that this little place, in midcoast Maine, was going to be our home. In our first year here, we have dipped our toe into house renovations, produced a few meals worth of garden fresh fruits and veggies, and made a ton of goat milk soap. Our ever expanding family consists of 2 pups, 2 goats, 4 ducks and 9 chicks.
I come from a long line of Mainers so it means a lot to be able to build a small business here in Maine. We were drawn to the modern homesteading lifestyle for its change of pace. We’ve always wanted the ability to be more self-sufficient and capable of producing the things that we need in life. I’m a firm believer that anyone, anywhere is capable of providing for themselves in some capacity. I created this blog to help educate (and entertain) fellow homesteaders and anyone thinking about getting into the homesteading lifestyle. Here you will find homesteading recipes, DIY tutorials, small batch goat milk soap, and bits of knowledge I’ve picked up along the way. Thanks for following along!
